1-Day Tour Plan for Tokyo Disneyland 2017

Tokyo Disneyland takes the best of both the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park to create a unique yet familiar experience. There are plenty of food and snacks to devour, shows to experience, and attractions to ride as many times as you desire. While certain attractions and landmarks are familiar, there are enough distinct aspects to call for a bit of pre-planning before you burst through those turnstiles.

This is where we come in. Collectively, we have visited this beautiful park over 150 times. With that experience, we have come up with an ideal 1-day plan for taking in everything Tokyo Disneyland has to offer:

  • Unique shows and attractions
  • The best places to eat
  • Photo spots
  • Atmosphere

Of course, hitting all these points in a single day is rather difficult, but we have done our best to give you an ideal itinerary if you have only a single day at the park. If you have visited any other Magic Kingdom park, some of these points may seem odd, but trust us when they show up on the list; they are either better or different enough to schedule into your (probably) already-full itinerary. Make sure to read our 1-day plan for Tokyo DisneySea, too!

We have broken this itinerary up into three parts to make it easier to digest:

  • Pre-Game
  • Park Opening
  • Afternoon
  • Evening

Pre-Game

Arriving early to the park is crucial to knock-out the most popular attractions, which then leaves you with more leisure time in the afternoons and evenings.

  • Read through our packing list for a day at the park.
  • Grab yourself an English Park Map if you are staying at the Resort or download the pdf.
  • Eat before heading to the park or have some snacks to hold you over until your first popcorn of the day.
  • Arrive at least 1 hour before park opening (2 hours on weekends). If you have the “Happy 15” early entry, queue 30 minutes to 1 hour before your entrance time.
  • Choose the turnstiles furthest right (opposite side of the walkway entrance). Typically, there are fewer people here.

Once those turnstiles open, it’s go time! All your planning, reading, and anticipation has led up to this moment:

  • Grab Monsters Inc. FastPasses in Tomorrowland. Note the return time.
  • Head on over to Pooh’s Hunny Hunt for Standby.
  • After your adventures with Pooh, grab yourself some Hunny Popcorn to celebrate experiencing one of the best attractions at Tokyo Disney Resort.
  • Try the lottery for Once Upon A Time or One Man’s Dream II.
  • Single Rider for Splash Mountain (if you’re in a group, you will be split up).
  • Use your FastPass for Monsters Inc. around this time. Be mindful that you must use the FastPass in your allotted time. It is not accepted if you are even a few minutes late.
  • In Westernland, grab a spot for the morning parade facing Fantasyland (in front of Critter Country).
  • Have one person from your party grab FastPasses for either Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion or Space Mountain. Note the return time and adjust accordingly.

Enjoy the parade!

Afternoon

You conquered the morning and now it’s time to take it easy for the afternoon (well, easier than racing for those FastPasses).

  • Enjoy a leisurely lunch right after the parade at the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall. Get yourself an Unbirthday Cake, and watch your head!
  • Claim your spot in Tomorrowland for the Happiness is Here Parade. Anywhere along the route is a good spot and usually is not as crowded.
  • While waiting to get yourself those infamous Green Alien Mochi (Space Place FoodPort), try another flavour of popcorn (Soy Sauce & Butter is highly recommended).
  • After the parade, it should be time for your next FastPass!
  • Relax by browsing the shops in the World Bazaar and get your shopping done! If you don’t want to carry it all day, store your purchases in a locker near the entrance to the park.
  • Get in line for a character greeting at the entrance to the park. You never know who you will run into!
  • Hop aboard the Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland (near the World Bazaar).
  • Try your hand at the Carnival Games and win an exclusive prize or pin! They offer a rainy day pin as a prize on days when it’s raining!

Evening

The sun has set and the weather has started to cool down. Now, it’s time to soak in Tokyo Disneyland in the evening.

  • Scurry on over to Grandma Sara’s Kitchen in Critter Country for a unique dining experience and hearty food.
  • Claim your spot for the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights in the hub area. Anywhere along there is fine. The best spot for photos is beside the Partner Statue. Keep in mind that this fills up early!
  • Once you are finished watching the best nighttime entertainment, blast on over to Star Tours (or hyper speed on over, whichever works).
  • If you won the lottery from earlier in the day, head to your reserved seat for Once Upon A Time. If you were unlucky with the lottery, claim your spot in the Hub area, which puts you right in the middle.
  • You have about 1 hour left in the park; use this time to enjoy an attraction or attractions of your choice! Depending on the crowds and wait times, you could ride multiple ones!
  • Enjoy the atmosphere in front of Cinderella Castle.

Conclusion

There you have it: you just conquered the best of Tokyo Disneyland in one single day! Now, gear up for your time at Tokyo DisneySea.
