Grand Circuit Raceway, an original Opening Day attraction, closes January 11, 2017, at Tokyo Disneyland. This is to make way for the Fantasyland expansion, which includes a brand new, exclusive Beauty and the Beast attraction. Grand Circuit Raceway has remained a guest favourite since its opening in 1983 and has done over 140,000,000 laps.
As a send-off before it closes for good on January 11, 2017, Tokyo Disneyland is celebrating with a special event called “Grand Circuit Raceway Final Lap,” running from November 21, 2016 until January 11, 2017, which includes special merchandise and certificates for guests.
Available at various locations in Tokyo Disneyland — including in front of the Raceway and Grand Emporium — are commemorative items, which include a pin, postcard, badge, and plastic file folder. You can also have your photo taken with a special design overlay and have it printed at the Camera Center (front of the park).
Limited Design Certificates
For the duration of the event, guests who ride Grand Circuit Raceway receive a special certificate in two different designs. From November 21, 2016 to December 16, 2016, the first design is available. Starting December 17, 2016 to January 11, 2017, the second design is available. These make the perfect free souvenir.
While I am sad to see an Opening Day attraction close, its replacement sounds spectacular and I cannot wait to see what this next chapter in the history of Tokyo Disneyland brings.
Are you able to ride this attraction one last time before it closes?
