Tokyo Disneyland Expansion

Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland is getting a huge make over.

  • Fantasyland expansion:
    • Alice in Wonderland themed area
    • Beauty and the Beast themed area
    • it’s a small world relocation (unconfirmed speculation from concept art)
    • New restaurant(s)
    • Doubling the size
  • Adventureland
  • Westernland
    • New Character Greeting and Restaurant in Autumn-Winter of 2016

Fantasyland is doubling in size along with major new attractions, restaurants, and shops. It will also take out some of Tomorrowland, but Toontown will stay intact. Adventureland is receiving new carnival games (similar to the one in DisneySea) and a new shops themed to the Jungle Book. A new character greeting and restaurant is opening in Autumn-Winter 2016 in Westernland, no specifics are known yet.

Tokyo DisneySea

  • Scandinavia themed land is the 8th new port. Themed after Disney’s Frozen. Located at the back of the park (see photo).
  • 15th Anniversary in 2016 called “The Year of Wishes” brings a number of new and updated shows in 2016:
    • Big Band Beat Renewal
    • Brand new show in Lost River Delta (replacing the retired Mystic Rhythms Show)
    • Crystal Wishes Journey”, a brand new show to be presented at Mediterranean Harbor
  • Storm Rider to close in Mid-May 2016 and replaced with Finding Nemo Attraction in 2017

The new port themed after Scandinavia with a portion of it specific to Frozen, is the biggest announcement to date for DisneySea. While people are tired of Frozen, we are confident that the imagineers will do it justice and make it worthy of being part of Tokyo DisneySea (Arabian Coast is an amazingly themed area). The loss of Storm Rider (an original attraction) and being re-themed to Finding Nemo is a bit strange but we will wait and see before making any judgements.

With major changes coming to Tokyo DisneySea be sure to read our One-Day Touring Plan to get the most of your day before everything changes!
