Pokémon fans will soon have a new way to travel as All Nippon Airways (ANA) and The Pokémon Company have unveiled the first two aircraft in a brand-new Pokémon Jet series celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The collaboration introduces Pokémon Jet Red and Pokémon Jet Green, the first two specially painted aircraft, with Pokémon Jet Blue to follow.
The new aircraft continue a long history between ANA and Pokémon, which dates back to 1998 when the airline launched the world’s first Pokémon Jet. The latest project also coincides with another major milestone, the 40th anniversary of ANA’s international flight operations.
Pokémon Jet Red
The first aircraft to enter service will be Pokémon Jet Red, a Boeing 787-8 scheduled to begin operating on domestic Japanese routes from late July 2026. The design features Pikachu alongside Fire-type starter Pokémon, including Charmander, Fuecoco, Torchic, Pombon and Fennekin.
Pokémon Jet Red is expected to appear across ANA’s domestic network, with major routes including flights between Tokyo Haneda and destinations such as Sapporo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Okinawa, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Miyako, and Ishigaki. The aircraft will also operate selected services from Osaka Itami Airport to destinations including Sapporo and Okinawa.
Travellers flying on the special aircraft can look forward to exclusive themed amenities, including commemorative boarding stickers, custom headrest covers featuring Pokémon from the aircraft designs, and limited-edition cups showcasing Pokémon characters alongside the Pokémon 30th anniversary logo.
Pokémon Jet Green
Joining the fleet later will be Pokémon Jet Green, a Boeing 787-9 that will operate on international routes. While its launch date has not yet been announced, the aircraft features Pikachu alongside Grass-type starter Pokémon from across the Pokémon franchise, including Bulbasaur, Sprigatito, and Chikorita.
As with the red jet, passengers travelling aboard Pokémon Jet Green will receive a range of exclusive themed amenities, including commemorative boarding stickers, Pokémon-themed headrest covers, and limited-edition drink cups featuring Pokémon characters and the Pokémon 30th anniversary logo.
International flights will also offer custom cocktail napkins featuring the collaboration branding. The themed amenities will vary depending on route and cabin class, and ANA notes that onboard offerings may change due to operational requirements.
