Beauty and the Beast Attraction Opens April 15, 2020, at Tokyo Disneyland

It’s been finally announced that the “New Fantasyland” expansion at Tokyo Disneyland officially opens on April 15, 2020! This includes “The Happy Ride with Baymax”, “Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast”, “Fantasyland Forest Theatre”, and “Minnie’s Style Studio.”

The new “Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast” is the most anticipated new addition to Tokyo Disneyland and is also confirmed to be a FastPass attraction. This new attraction is a trackless dark ride that takes you through the Beast’s Castle with familiar scenes and music from the classic.

Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast opens April 15, 2020, at Tokyo Disneyland

It’s still no details on what new stage show that is going into the “Fantasyland Forest Theatre.” Once we know more, we’ll let all you Explorers know. “The Happy Ride with Baymax” is the first Big Hero 6 attraction at Tokyo Disneyland in Tomorrowland. It’ll be the same ride system as other attractions at Walt Disney World (Alien Swirling Saucers), Disney California Adventure (Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree), and Shanghai Disneyland (Woody’s Roundup).  Also in Tomorrowland is a new popcorn shop called “The Big Pop”, that’ll offer multiple popcorn flavours and buckets.

“Minnie’s Style Studio” is a new dedicated character greeting facility for Minnie Mouse in Toontown. Now both Mickey and Minnie will have dedicated buildings for character greetings.

Do they do soft openings a few days / weeks before opening? We are from Tokyo and do a yearly staycation at TDR in mid-April when it’s usually not crowded. Definitely don’t want to go on April 15 because of the crowds but wondering if they do some soft openings before then?

This is so exciting! We can’t wait to plan our trip to Tokyo Disneyland to see this.
Now I did not see any mention of the Village Shops and La Tavern De Gaston- do you think it will open along with everything else?
