Bon Voyage Reopens at Tokyo Disney Resort: What To Know

Tokyo Disney Resort has both of its parks, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, reopening on July 1, 2020. The huge gift shop outside the parks by Maihama Station, Bon Voyage, reopened today (June 25) after being closed for months.

It’s by reservation only for the time being. I got myself a reservation to check out the store with its safety measures and of course to see the cute merchandise.

Let’s take a look, shall we?

Tokyo Disneyland. So close yet so far.

Bon Voyage Safety Measures

By this point, we all sorta know what to expect for what’s happening with health and safety measures. Social distancing lines on the ground, limited capacity, shields between you and Cast Members at the registers, and everyone wearing masks.

Overall the process was easy, I showed my confirmation email from my reservation. Stood in line for about 5-minutes before having my temperature checked. Then went inside.

The store wasn’t busy and some corners were tough to keep a distance from people. I was impressed with the barriers between guests and Cast Members at the resisters. There was a lot of thought to make them look nice and not cheap plastic curtains falling apart.

Remember you need a reservation to visit until further notice.

Bon Voyage Merchandise

Tokyo Disney Resort specified that “Very Very Minnie”, “Pixar Playtime”, and Duffy and Friends merchandise won’t be available at the shop. Duffy items are never available in Bon Voyage anyway, so that doesn’t come at a surprise. Duffy is exclusive to Tokyo DisneySea. Those items are said to be on sale through the official Tokyo Disney Resort app on July 1, 2020.

The only merchandise available at the moment in Bon Voyage is regular park merchandise. Here’s a sample of what’s available. For a larger list see our Bon Voyage merchandise update. I bought myself a couple of things too!

Hey Chris, I went there today, not knowing that I needed a reservation beforehand. After confirming I didn’t have a reservation, one of the staff members asked me if I had a park ticket.

Do you happen to know that, in lieu of a reservation, a park ticket for that day would also allow you entry to Bon Voyage? I forgot to ask.
