Celebrate 30 Years of Toy Story at Tokyo Skytree with “Toy Story Sky” Event

To mark the 30th anniversary of Pixar’s beloved Toy Story series, Tokyo Skytree is hosting a large-scale celebration titled “TOY STORY SKY IN TOKYO SKYTREE” from July 17 to October 31, 2025. The limited-time event features immersive displays, original merchandise, exclusive cafe items, and stunning nighttime illuminations high above Tokyo in honour of Woody, Buzz, and the gang.

Located at 450 meters above ground in the Tembo Galleria, the main exhibition recreates a child’s room above the clouds, filled with Toy Story characters and playful photo spots. As soon as guests step out of the themed elevator, they will be welcomed by large statues of Wood and Buzz

As guests make their way around Tembo Galleria Floor 445, they will be treated to eye-catching character exhibits along the winding Skywalk up to Floor 450. Fans can also try to spot hidden toys scattered throughout the gallery, adding a fun scavenger hunt element.

The exhibition features several fun photo spots featuring everyone’s favourite toys from the franchise.

The Skytree Round Theatre will screen a custom Toy Story video on its panoramic window screens. The 2-minute show, backed by immersive audio and visuals, plays nightly with special screenings scheduled on select dates.

On 22 select nights, the Tokyo Skytree will shine in character-inspired lighting patterns representing Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep, Jessie, Bullseye, and Alien. Each colour theme changes every 2.5 minutes. A special lighting event will also take place on August 1st and 2nd to celebrate the upcoming Japanese release of Pixar’s ‘Elio’.

Skytree Shop Exclusive Merch

A selection of event-exclusive Toy Story merchandise is available at the Skytree Shop on Floor 345, including acrylic keychains, eco bags, PVC pouches, clear files, blind hologram badges and more. Shoppers who spend over ¥3,000 on Toy Story goods will receive a free original shopper bag.

Limited-Time Toy Story Drinks at the Skytree Cafe

On Floor 340, the Skytree Cafe is serving up a selection of original drinks inspired by Toy Story characters. These special beverages are part of a collaboration with Oh My Cafe, which will launch a limited-time Toy Story-themed cafe in Tokyo and Osaka starting July 25, followed by Aichi from August 7.

Each drink purchase comes with an exclusive sticker, while supplies last.
