Changes Coming to Tokyo Disney Resort in 2026

Tokyo Disney Resort is heading into a busy year, with 2026 delivering a packed calendar of special events, a major milestone celebration, updated vacation packages, and several ride closures to factor into your plans. With so much happening across both parks, a little forward planning goes a long way. Here is a look at the key changes and highlights coming to Tokyo Disney Resort in 2026!

2026 Event Calendar

Tokyo Disney Resort is known for its packed calendar of special events throughout the year, each offering limited-time entertainment, parades, seasonal menus and of course, exclusive merchandise. In addition to your mainstays, such as Halloween and Christmas, both parks will be offering limited-time offerings throughout the year! Let’s take a look at a few standouts!

Tokyo Disneyland

Minnie Mouse is taking over Tokyo Disneyland with a limited-time event filled with sweet treats, exclusive merchandise and plenty of pink polkadots! Guests can look forward to eye-catching decorations and photo spots, an energetic parade, a brand-new projection show and more! Minnie’s Funderland will be offered from January 14 through March 2, 2026.

Tokyo DisneySea

Tokyo DisneySea will mark its 25th anniversary in 2026 with a year-long Tokyo DisneySea 25th Anniversary Sparkling Jubilee celebration. Guests can look forward to limited-time entertainment, commemorative merchandise, themed food and beverage offerings, and festive decorations. The celebration will run from April 15, 2026, to March 31, 2027.

In addition to the park’s anniversary celebration, 2026 will see the return of the Tokyo DisneySea Food & Wine Festival, which kicks off on April 15th. For more information, visit our handy events calendar.

The Parks Are Busy!

With the opening of Fantasy Springs and the recent influx of international tourists, Tokyo Disney Resort is as popular as ever! Unfortunately, this means off-peak periods are a thing of the past. When planning a trip in 2026, the general rule of thumb is visit on weekdays, avoid public holidays, and whatever you do, avoid Golden Week (29 April to 6 May) and Silver Week (19 – 23 September).

Fantasy Springs

Speaking of Fantasy Springs, things are finally levelling off following its massive debut in 2023. While at one point we required a flowchart to communicate the various ways to access the new port, all guests can now freely enter Fantasy Springs without requiring a reservation or ride reservation.

As expected, attractions in Fantasy Springs continue to post long waits. Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey remains the standout, with Disney Premier Access often selling out early in the morning. That said, it is worth checking the app regularly throughout the day, as additional availability can sometimes appear.

Vacation Packages

While the parks are busier than ever, there are ways to help cut down wait times and make the most of your time at the Resort. Tokyo Disney Resort Vacation Packages are a popular option for guests that are seeking a convenient way to experience all that the resort has to offer – at a price.

Vacation packages, which combine hotel accomodation, park ticket and special benefits, including attraction tickets, and original souvenirs have recently seen some changes going into 2026.

Enjoy Unlimited Rides on Eligible Attractions! ― 2DAYS: Fantasy Springs attractions (Frozen, Peter Pan, and Rapunzel) are now included a without reservation. (Be quick, these packages sell out quickly!)

Enjoy Attractions and More ― 3DAYS (Includes Park Tickets for Second and Third Day): This new package includes accomodation on the night before you visit the park, allowing you to enjoy the hotel on your check-in day. Note that this package doesn’t include a park ticket for your check-in date – if you’re after three days at the park, probably stick with the Enjoy Attractions and more ― 3DAYS package.

Major Attraction Closures

Tokyo Disney Resort is famous for its immaculately maintained parks and rides. To keep the park in top condition, rides regularly close for routine maintenance. Unfortunately, there is nothing more disappointing than arriving at Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea only to discover your favourite attraction is unavailable, especially when it is a must-ride like Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey.
