Coco Takes Over Tokyo DisneySea with the Return of Lazos de la Familia Celebration

Tokyo DisneySea is bringing back its “Lazos de la Familia” celebration to Lost River Delta, inspired by the Disney and Pixar film Coco. Returning as part of the Halloween season, the celebration will once again immerse guests in the colourful traditions of Mexico’s Día de los Muertos with festive decorations, mariachi music, special food and movie-inspired merchandise.

This year’s celebration will run from September 16 through November 2, 2026, with even more ways to experience the world of Coco around Lost River Delta.

Decorations

During the event, Lost River Delta will be transformed with colourful calaveras (skulls), marigolds and papel picado, recreating the vibrant atmosphere of Día de los Muertos. Marigolds are traditionally associated with guiding the souls of loved ones, while the colourful decorations reflect the joyful spirit of the celebration.

Guests will find a Coco-themed ofrenda: a traditional altar decorated with photos, favourite foods, candles, flowers, and sugar skulls, each element representing love, remembrance, and the symbolic act of guiding spirits home.

Along Puente Buena Vista in Lost River Delta, the spirit of Coco comes to life with vibrant skeleton displays and marigolds, the traditional flowers said to guide loved ones from the Land of the Dead.

Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina will also feature a Lazos de la Familia-themed photo wall, giving guests another opportunity to capture a memorable moment during the celebration.

Entertainment and Character Greetings

Guests can also enjoy atmosphere entertainment featuring mariachi music and lively dances around Lost River Delta, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the area.

One of the highlights this year will be the chance to meet Miguel in two different looks. Guests can see Miguel in his classic look from the film, as well as his Land of the Dead attire, with the latter appearing in the afternoon at a photo spot surrounded by colourful Día de los Muertos decorations.

Special Menu

The food offerings for Lazos de la Familia are expanding this year, with special menus available at Yucatan Base Camp Grill and, for the first time, Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina. Both restaurants will serve the returning “Remember Me” drink, inspired by the marigolds featured in Coco. The refreshing drink combines orange and tropical fruit flavours.

Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina will introduce a new Tortilla Cheese Dog, featuring spicy sausage, chili con carne and cheese wrapped in a tortilla, with Mexican-style shrimp nachos. The Tortilla Cheese Dog will be available on its own or as part of a special set.

Guests can also enjoy a flavourful shrimp nachos, alongside a special set featuring a filling seafood salsa sauce rice bowl grilled salmon and sausage on the bone.

Over at Yucatan Base Camp Grill, guests can once again enjoy Pan de Muerto, a traditional Día de los Muertos sweet bread flavoured with orange and scented with orange peel.

Coco Merchandise and Popcorn Bucket

The celebration will also bring a new range of merchandise and a Coco-inspired popcorn bucket to Tokyo DisneySea.

The colourful popcorn bucket – available from September 17th, features papel picado designs depicting scenes from the film, while a light-up feature illuminates the candle and marigolds at the bottom of the bucket.

Guests can also pick up a Miguel-inspired hoodie, a guitar-shaped shoulder bag, skull mug, and marigold-inspired hair clips and headband, allowing fans to incorporate elements from Coco into their park outfits.
