Shanghai Disney Resort has shared a major milestone for its upcoming Spider-Man-themed land with the installation of the first vertical steel column for the new thrill coaster. This marks the start of attraction installation work and brings Marvel’s web-slinger one step closer to joining the park.
At the heart of the expansion is a high-energy coaster featuring Spider-Man, designed to immerse guests in action-packed adventures with the friendly neighbourhood hero. Beyond the attraction, the land will feature themed shopping, dining, and entertainment.
Located next to Zootopia, the Spider-Man land will become the ninth themed land at Shanghai Disneyland and the park’s first major Marvel offering. Construction of the Spider-Man land officially began in May 2025, after being announced at this 2024’s D23 Experiences Showcase.
On the yet-unnamed thrilling new coaster, guests will join Peter Parker in a high-stakes adventure where Spider-Man finds himself — and us — in a precarious situation. Riders will experience high-speed twists and turns, working alongside Spider-Man to escape the clutches of his foes.
