Coronavirus: Face Character Greetings Closed at Tokyo Disney Resort
To help protect Cast Members and guests, Tokyo Disney Resort has suspended face character greetings at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
From January 31, face character greetings such as Ariel’s Grotto are closed until further notice. Characters such as Mickey and friends are still greeting guests.
As of January 31, 2020, there are 17 confirmed cases of the coronavius in Japan. With 6 in the United States, 9 in Australia, and 10 in Singapore.
The virus originated in Mainland China back in December 2019. There are no travel advisories to Japan and it’s still considered safe to visit. As with any flu, the best way to protect yourself is by washing your hands frequently.
As of this writing there are NO plans to close Tokyo Disney Resort. The Parks are still opened.
