Following the popular Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Event, Universal Studios Japan is introducing two new Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba-themed attractions, a new popcorn bucket, and more. The new limited-time experiences will be offered from July 19, 2024, until January 5, 2025.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba XR Ride “Ride through the Swordsmith’s Village
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba XR Ride “Ride through the Swordsmith’s Village is a VR roller coaster experience that plunges participants into immersive 360-degree battles from the anime series “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.” The current ‘Dream Run Mugen Train’ overlay is set to end on June 9th, allowing guests to experience a brand new story in the world of Demon Slayer.
The Story: The first wave of demons attacks the village of swordsmiths. Tanjiro is fighting, but he says he needs a new sword to defeat him. You, an apprentice swordsmith, search for a new sword that should be in the forge with Genya, but… With the help of Mitsuri and Muichiro, run as fast as you can to deliver the sword to Tanjiro and save the swordsmith village from crisis.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba XR Ride, located at Space Fantasy The Ride will be offered from July 19, 2024, until January 5, 2025. Universal Studios Japan will offer “Universal Express Pass” options to ensure guests can enjoy these attractions with reduced wait times. The passes will go on sale starting May 19, 2024, and June 20, 2024, respectively.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Pillar Training Edition x Hollywood Dream the Ride
For a limited time, guests will be able to enjoy two original stories while riding the popular coaster Hollywood Dream The Ride. You will be able to hear the voices of popular characters from Demon Slayer.
Two different versions of this overlay will be offered during the event:
- July 19, 2024 (Friday) to October 7, 2024 (Monday)
- October 8, 2024 (Tuesday) to January 5, 2025 (Sunday)
Please note that this experience is only for the Hollywood Dream The Ride version of the coaster and not the Hollywood Dream The Ride ~Backdrop~.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba New Collaboration Restaurant
Universal Studios Japan has announced a new themed restaurant, “Swordsmith Village Hyottoko Dining Hall” allowing visitors to immerse themselves into the world of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” through a specially curated menu. The unique dining experience will be offered at “SAIDO” in the New York area for a limited time from July 19, 2024, to January 5, 2025.

Food-On-The Go
A range of food designed to eat on the go will also be available, including themed churros and donuts.
Popcorn Bucket
Additionally, guests can pick up a “Tanjiro’s Gourd Popcorn Bucket” filled with Mitarashi-flavored popcorn, which is swordsmith Hotaru Haganezuka’s favourite food.
Original Merchandise
It’s not a special event at Universal Studios Japan without exclusive merchandise! The collection includes plush and mascot keychains of Demon Slayer characters, cookies and a photo opportunity.

Universal Studios Japan has affordable accommodations that are steps away from the park and have easy access to Osaka. I recommend checking prices through Booking.com followed by the hotels directly. Sometimes, you’re able to score some incredible deals. Here’s a short list of hotels at Universal Studios Japan I recommend.
- The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan – You’re directly in front of the Park gates and have instant access to Universal CityWalk Osaka. The rooms are gorgeous, with restaurants and even a Lawson (Japanese convenience store).
