“Disney Broadway Hits” Featuring Alan Menken – Rescheduled until 2023
Update: Disney Events Live has announced rescheduled tour dates after the original July 2022 concerts were cancelled due to Alan Menken testing positive for Covid-19.
The three cancelled shows, which were scheduled to occur on the 26th, 27th and 28th of July 2022 are now scheduled to take place in August 2023. Disney Events Live have provided the below transfer schedule for those who had tickets for the 2022 performances.
July 26, 2022 (Tuesday) → August 16, 2023 (Wednesday)
July 27, 2022 (Wednesday) → August 17, 202 (Thursday)
July 28, 2022 (Thursday) → August 18, 2023 (Friday)
Customers who are unable to attend the rescheduled performances can apply for a refund from August 26th (Friday) from 10:00 until September 8th (Thursday) at 23:59. For more information about refunds and rescheduled performances, visit the Disney Broadway Hits official website.
Disney Events Live has announced “Disney Broadway Hits”; a night of magical Disney music, featuring the legendary Disney composer Alan Menken, with a supporting cast of highly talented Broadway stars.
The show is one of many Disney-themed shows to grace Japan in 2022, along with the forthcoming D’Capella, Disney On Classic, Tokyo DisneySea 20th Anniversary: Time to Shine! In Concert, and Disney World Beat performances.
Alan Menken along with his former creative partner Howard Ashman were pivitol in the kicking off the Disney Renaissance with classic movies such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast and Aladdin.
“Disney Broadway Hits” is set to showcase many of the Disney masterpieces created during this era, including Be Out Guest, A Whole New World, Part Of Your World, plus many more.
The show will be presented in two acts; act one promises the ultimate performance by Alan Menkem, solo at the piano. Act two will be a concert featuring four Broadway actors who performed in Disney musicals on the Great White Way. Amongst the cast are Josh Stickland (Tarzan), Kissy Simmons (Nala in The Lion King), Kara Lindsay (Newsies) and Michael James Scott who is currently starring as Genie in Aladdin on Broadway. Japanese actor Naoto Kaiho will also make a special guest appearance.
