To celebrate 100 years of Disney, Mary Poppins – In Concert – Live to Film‘ a special screening of the classic 1964 musical will be presented with live music performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Scheduled for Sunday, June 04, 2023, at Tokyo International Forum Hall A, Mary Poppins will be screened in its entirety on a large screen with English with Japanese subtitles. The screening will retain the original dialogue and sound effects from the film while the orchestra plays the film’s lush score.
The 1964 Academy Award Award-winning film staring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke features music by the Sherman Brothers and features many classic songs including “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”, “Chim Chim Cher-ee”, “A Spoonful of Sugar”. The Sherman Brothers won Academy Awards for Best Original Song for “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and Best Original Musical Score.
