This August will mark the 30th anniversary of the opening of the first Disney Store in Japan. To celebrate, from August 11, 2022, Disney Store will be releasing a number of special merchandise collections, in addition to launching a touring pop-up Museum.
30th Anniversary Merchandise
To celebrate 30 years of Disney Store, a huge collection of limited anniversary merchandise is scheduled to be released! The anniversary collection is set to be released in two phases, the first on August 11, 2022 (Thursday), with the second phase scheduled for August 21, 2022 (Sunday).
The 30th-anniversary collection features a large array of plush toys, commemorative watches, stationery, mobile accessories, home goods plus much more!
Local Tsum Tsum Designs
As part of the 30th Anniversary celebration, Disney Store will launch a unique line of Tsum Tsums. The Local Tsum Tsum collection features designs associated with specific regions of Japan, with each toy being exclusive to the area, and exclusive to the Disney Store in the area. The collection will launch with Tsum Tsums featuring motifs from Nagoya, Shizuoka, and Sendai.
The Nagoya Local Tsum Tsum features designs inspired by fried shrimp & tenmusu, while the Shizuoka designs feature Mickey and Donald dressed in eel costumes while Minnie and Daisy wear garments reflecting the tea farming of the area.
Tsum Tsum 30th Anniversary Set
A limited special anniversary box set of 23 mini Tsums will be released, featuring mini versions of popular Tsum Tsums released by Disney Store since it first debuted in 2013. The set is scheduled to be released on August 21, 2022, and is priced at ¥24,200.
