“Donald’s Happy Birthday to Me!” Event Details

Explorers get ready, Donald Duck is throwing himself a month-long birthday party at Tokyo Disney Resort. Donald’s Happy Birthday to Me! features decorations, a birthday experience treasure hunt, and new food and merchandise. The event runs June 7 – July 7, 2018.

Donald Duck made his debut in the Disney cartoon “The Wise Little Hen” on June 9, 1934, making our feathered friend 84 years old! To celebrate Donald and Tokyo Disney Resort are inviting guests to join the party. Check out all the details, including merchandise and food prices, and the awesome birthday cake popcorn bucket, below.

Donald’s birthday party is in addition to the 35th Anniversary celebrations, and the Tanabata Days event which runs for the same period. Check out our 35th “Happiest Celebration” and Tanabata Days guides.

Birthday Decorations

Donald’s House, Camp Woodchuck Kitchen, and Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina receive a birthday makeover for the duration of the event.

Donald’s Birthday Experience

To add to Donald’s Birthday, a special package is available:

  • Treasure hunt map to find keywords and receive stickers from a Cast Member
  • A badge which you can decorate with your stickers
  • A flag to wave at Donald during shows and parades
  • A birthday card which you can post in the park and a reply from Donald will be mailed to you!

The Donald’s Birthday experience costs ¥1,500 ($14 USD) per person. It’s not clear if the treasure hunt is available in English however.

Merchandise

Donald Duck merchandise is available in both parks including brand new birthday items. Most items are on sale now, with a few exceptions shown below.

Food and Drink

A small selection of celebratory food and drink include a S’more style Brownie at Camp Woodchuck Kitchen, and Donald Burger (Prawn Katsu) at Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s Good Time Cafe.

However, the highlight has to be the awesome Donald Birthday Cake popcorn bucket.

Disney Resort Hotels

New Non-alcoholic cocktails with souvenir Donald coasters will also launch at the Resort hotels. For huge Donald fans, the adorable Donald Character rooms are also available at Disney Ambassador Hotel.

I love the attractions, parades and food at the Disney Parks in Asia, but most of all there's nothing like being magically transported to a different place and time. It's difficult to pick my favorite Disney attraction, but it's Sindbad, it's obviously Sindbad.
