Tokyo DisneySea’s eighth themed port, Fantasy Springs celebrated its grand opening today, on June 6, 2024. Themed to magical springs leading to a world of Disney fantasy, Fantasy Springs is the only themed port of its kind and is the largest expansion of Tokyo DisneySea since its opening in 2001.
Fantasy Springs consists of four new attractions, food and shopping, and the luxury park-integrated Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel. Construction of the eagerly awaited expansion started in May 2019 and represents an investment amounting to 320 billion yen. The new port spans approximately 140,000 m2 and consists of three areas inspired by the worlds of Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan.
The opening of Fantasy Springs was commemorated with a ceremony attended by representatives of Oriental Land Co. as well as representatives of The Walt Disney Company. The ceremony was also attended by 100 Fandaful Disney members selected by lottery, and popular Disney characters including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Anna, Elsa, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Peter Pan and Wendy.
Tokyo Disney Resort also celebrated the opening of its sixth official resort hotel, the luxurious Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel. A ceremony was held on the day of the grand opening, with hotel cast members appearing alongside Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
