World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland is set to welcome a new resident, with the debut of a new next-generation walk-around Olaf animatronic – the latest in Disney’s Living Character Initiative, designed to enhance the way guests interact with popular Disney characters. Olaf will be making limited-time special appearances at World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort in early 2026.
Created by Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development in collaboration with Disney Live Entertainment and Walt Disney Animation Studios, this free-roaming Olaf animatronic reflects the character’s signature movement and curious nature from the hit Frozen films. He features removable elements like his carrot nose and stick arms, plus a soft snow-like shimmer.
The figure was revealed by Bruce Vaughn, President and Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Imagineering, and Natacha Rafalski, Présidente of Disneyland Paris. Olaf will also make his debut at World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World when it opens on March 29, 2026.
Imagineering has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the new Olaf figure, along with a preview of other technologies headed to Disney Parks, in the latest episode of We Call It Imagineering.
