In celebration of Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, Sanrio is bringing a limited-time experience to Shibuya with the “HELLO KITTY IMMERSIVE POP-UP!” event. This fully immersive experience will take place at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA from September 6th to September 16th, 2024.
As you traverse Shibuya’s bustling Scramble Crossing, you’ll be greeted by SHIBUYA TSUTAYA’s show window featuring a massive Hello Kitty balloon adorned by ribbons. After stepping into the immersive experience area of the first floor, visitors will be transported into the kawaii world of Hello Kitty.
The immersive space features eye-catching visuals drawing on Hello Kitty designs of the past and present, Sanrio characters appearing to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, and Shibuya’s scramble crossing intersection reimaged as a kawaii Hello Kitty town. The rhythmic visuals will be synchronized to catchy tunes including “Popcorn!! feat. Hello Kitty,” a collaboration with MAISONdes.
Hello Kitty fans can also capture memorable moments at the “Mirror Photo Spot,” where you’ll be enveloped in a sea of Hello Kitty ribbons, making for the perfect backdrop for photos and videos.
Additionally, a digital stamp rally will be held across four locations in Shibuya, including SHIBUYA TSUTAYA, SHIBUYA109, and two Sanrio stores. Collecting stamps will unlock exclusive digital wallpapers.
