“Hello, New York!” & Other Entertainment Closes Permanently at Tokyo Disney Resort
Tokyo Disney Resort announced today that there’s some form of Christmas happening this year at the Parks. Originally, all the seasonal events were cancelled for fiscal 2020. That’s some good news to bring some holiday cheer to the Parks.
However, with the good comes the bad.
A number of live entertainment has been permanently cancelled. Including the stage show “Hello, New York!” at Tokyo DisneySea. Here’s a list of what entertainment has ended permanently.
Tokyo Disneyland
- Fun Maintenance
- BreakBeat Dancers
- Opus Five
The “Fun Maintenance” performance was a Cast Member pretending to be maintenance. They would then perform jokes and tricks for guests randomly throughout the Park. It was always a delight walking by and seeing a huge crowd form (this was before pre-pandemic of course) and the laughs from everyone.
Tokyo DisneySea
- Hello, New York!
- Diamond Sisters
- Fun Custodial
- The Wind Wanderers
The “Fun Custodial” was a faux custodial Cast Member that went around the Park and performed for guests. It was an unexpected surprise that always put a smile on my face. Here’s a viral video that was taken of the “Fun Custodial” at Tokyo DisneySea.
“Hello, New York!” made its debut as part of the 35th Anniversary of Tokyo Disney Resort. The show was a replacement for the now-ended shows “A Table is Waiting” and “Steps to Shine”.
Watch our video below of “Hello, New York!” that ended well before its time.
I’m sad to see a lot of this entertainment go and the Cast Members who bring these performances to life. Thank you to all the Cast Members who brought all these performances to life.
Hopefully, we see this type of entertainment return in the future.

More Things to Do in Tokyo
My recommendations for things to do in and around Tokyo! Plan a day at the Hello Kitty theme park, Sanrio Puroland, and an afternoon at the popular TeamLab Planets TOKYO. Take a tour around Tokyo with the convenient hop-on and-off bus. Spend a rainy afternoon inside Japan’s largest indoor theme park, Tokyo Joyoplis, near Tokyo Disney!
