Highland Resort Hotel & Spa, the official hotel of Fuji-Q Highland in Yamanashi Prefecture, has announced that its exclusive Thomas the Tank Engine Rooms and amenities will be updated with a brand-new design starting Monday, September 1, 2025.
The hotel sits right next to Thomas Land, Japan’s only outdoor Thomas the Tank Engine theme park, and has been welcoming Thomas fans since the first themed room opened in 1998. The hotel features 10 uniquely designed Thomas-themed rooms of varying sizes, from the Thomas and Tidmouth Engine Room to the spacious suite, Engine Shed and Thomas and Percy Room. Guests staying at the hotel will receive priority entry to Fuji-Q Highland, allowing them to fully enjoy Thomas Land.
Hotel guests will receive original hotel-exclusive amenities themed to the new-look Thomas the Tank Engine anime series, offering kid-friendly designs that parents can also use. Guests will receive a randomly packed set of goods featuring six of Thomas’s friends, which may include the following:
The hotel’s buffet restaurant, Fujiyama Terrace, also has a private restaurant room called the Thomas Party Room, where guests can meet Thomas and Percy – perfect for birthday party celebrations!
Guests can enjoy the room’s unique themed design, while children can wear original trousers inspired by conductors for commemorative photos in front of the room’s vista of the stunning Mount Fuji.
