Hong Kong explorers get ready to party, Disneyland is celebrating its 12th Anniversary. The resort’s “Surprise Birthday Party” runs 1 – 14 September and includes new snacks, dining options, merchandise, and surprise character greetings.
Anniversary Celebration Food and Snacks
To get the party started Hong Kong Disneyland is introducing a delightfully sweet selection of character-inspired snacks and dining choices.
First up, the Royal Banquet Hall will sell special cupcakes depicting 12 Disney favourites, including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale. Duffy, ShellieMay, Gelatoni, and making her cupcake debut, Stella Lou! Individual cupcakes will cost HK$45 ($5.75USD), or guests can buy 6 or 12-piece box sets to share/eat all at once.
Guests can also choose from 12 special dishes, as well as 12th Anniversary Cheese Cake, at Royal Banquet Hall, Explorer’s Club Restaurant, and Main Street Corner Cafe. For guests on the go, a new 12th Anniversary Chocolate Cookie will be on sale at outdoor vending carts too!
Disney Characters join the party
It wouldn’t be a “Surprise Birthday Party” without surprises! So, Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto will be making special appearances at the park’s restaurants throughout the celebrations. These limited-time dining experiences will feature the Disney friends dressed in special chef outfits, complete with 12th anniversary gold medals. Meanwhile, Duffy will be celebrating at Main Street Corner Cafe where he will join dining guests for a special photo opportunity.
As well as characters, Royal Banquet Hall and Explorer’s Club will have special 12th anniversary decorations, including a six-foot-tall birthday cake featuring miniature Disney characters wishing the park a happy birthday.
Souvenirs and Merchandise
Finally, no birthday celebration would be complete without merchandise and Hong Kong Disneyland has definitely got you covered. Over 60 special 12th anniversary-themed items will be available, including new clothing, accessories, stationery, plush toys, key chains, and pins. The special Anniversary Collection has a “Disney in the Stars” fireworks theme, while other items feature popular attractions such as “it’s a small world,” Cinderella Carousel, and Mad Hatter Tea Cups.
This two-week event is a fun way to celebrate 12 years of Hong Kong Disneyland before things get spooky for “Disney Halloween Time” on 14 September.
