Hong Kong Disneyland Reopens September 25, 2020

Hong Kong Disneyland is reopening on September 25, 2020 after reclosing as required by the government and health authorities on July 15, 2020. The Park first closed on January 26, 2020, and reopened (the first time) on June 18, 2020.

Shanghai Disneyland, Universal Studios Japan, and Tokyo Disney Resort reopened on May 11, June 8, 2020, and July 1, 2020, respectively.

Here’s the full release from Hong Kong Disneyland. The biggest takeaway is the Park will be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the time being.

The Castle transformation to the Castle of Magical looks like it’s also complete! Hong Kong Disneyland shared this photo of the castle to make their announcement.

It’s interesting to read that the park will be closed at least two weekdays, for cleaning purposes, etc. I remember “the old days” of Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, in the early 1960’s, where BOTH parks closed two days of the week (one would close Monday-Tues…the other Wed/Thurs) to allow the other park a ‘favor’ of getting larger crowds those days, etc. Mighty nice and polite of them, we thought. And this was true, too! Maybe all the parks in the world need an actual “day off” (advertised well in advance I hope) on a regular basis, on and off seasons.
