Hong Kong Lifts Covid Restrictions For Arrivals Into The City

The Hong Kong government has announced the end of travel-related Covid-19 restrictions for arrivals into the city, following nearly three years of tough pandemic restrictions.

From December 14, 2022, travellers who produce a negative PCR Covid-19 test on arrival can immediately enter the community, attend restaurants, bars, museums and theme parks. Previously, new arrivals had their movements restricted under Hong Kong’s “0+3” arrangement which barred new arrivals from entering such places within the first 72 hours of arrival.

Arrivals are still required to take a PCR test on arrival at the airport, with another test required on their third day. Travellers will also be required to take a rapid antigen test (RAT) for five days. Proof of vaccination will still be required to design at restaurants and other designated venues.

Hong Kong ended its mandatory hotel quarantine for arrivals in September.
