Disney Cruise Line has announced that the magical cruise line will cease to service Australia and New Zealand following the upcoming October 2025 – February 2026 season. The news was announced via the official Down Under Disney Cruise Line account on August 11th.
Disney Cruise Line’s ‘Magic at Sea’ cruise service debuted in October 2023, offering services from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland. The cruise was serviced by one of the older Disney Cruise Line ships, the Disney Wonder, offering itineraries of three to ten nights. The ship’s last round-trip voyage will depart from Sydney on January 30th, 2026, before embarking on a one-way journey to Honolulu on February 2nd.

The problem that the cruises had in Australia and New Zealand is that they were expensive and offered nothing beyond the ship. There were a number of 3 night options that would leave the port, hang around in the waters nearby and then head back to port, so you were just sort of stuck on the ship.
Couple that with the American ones, where people get a day on a private island or beach, or can visit other countries and all that for less money, it just made the options here seem weak in comparison. While it is sad they are going away, it is just more surprising that they lasted as long as they did.
