Japan Earthquake Felt at Tokyo Disney Resort
An early morning earthquake rattled Japan’s east coast near Fukushima on Tuesday, with Japan’s Meteorological Agency reporting a measurement of 5- at its strongest point (or 6.9 on the USGS Richter Scale). The quake could be felt through much of the eastern part of the country, including in Urayasu, Chiba – home to Tokyo Disney Resort. The tremors measured a 4 on the Japanese scale at the parks.
TDR Explorer Chief Content Editor Chris Nilghe was in Urayasu staying at the new Disney Celebration Hotel when the quake struck on Tuesday morning.
Other visitors felt the earthquake as well at nearby hotels.
