TDR Explorer Update for June 2017
Hey fellow, Explorers! I wanted to share with you some updates from the TDR Explorer Headquarters, just to keep you in the loop and to get you excited for what’s coming. Also, I also wanted an excuse to use the “cuddle party” photo as the featured image because I think everyone should experience the cuteness that is the “cuddle party”!
What’s New & Upcoming
I swear, we’re not just riding Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage over and over. There is work being done! Here’s a rundown of what’s in the works:
- Major improvements to our wait time app TDR Now for iOS is now available
- Increase on Instagram
- Increase in YouTube videos
- Upcoming Planning Guides
- TDR Now Podcast
- Weekly Newsletter
Our update for our wait time app is now live for iOS and makes some behind the scenes improvements (aka it’s faster). Along with removing older attractions and adding new ones (Nemo & Friends SeaRider). The web version will get the update soon. Our Andriod version is still in the works (I have said that for a while and I promise I’ll get to it).
Our Instagram page gives you daily bite-sized tips for Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland. There’s a lot to learn about the parks, so these small updates help you with your planning (hopefully). I also post a lot in Instagram Stories when in the parks too.
We’ve begun creating small and digestible YouTube videos — make sure to subscribe — of merchandise, food, and hotel room tours. The purposes of these are to enhance our guides and articles. It’s a new avenue for us and is a bit of a learning curve, but it’s a fun challenge!
There is a number of planning guides in the works such as Universal Studios Japan, Fuji-Q Highland, and a number for Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. I can’t wait to share them with you (including new hotel reviews)!
In our weekly podcast — TDR Now — we have given our advice about Universal Studios Japan and Fuji-Q Highland. We’re closing in on our 100th episode, so make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out.
We’ve started a weekly newsletter to that’ll give you direct updates for all the Disney Parks in Asia with a focus on Tokyo Disney Resort. If you haven’t already, make sure to sign up. Our first newsletter goes out soon!
Exclusive Perks for our Patreon Supporters
If you’d like to show your support for the site there are some ways to do so. The biggest is Patreon, where you pledge a certain amount each month and in return are a number of perks (exclusive content, early access to videos, private live stream, etc). We’re close to our goal of $250/month, once we hit that I will make a video on how many times someone is able to ride Toy Story Mania! at Tokyo DisneySea in a single day.
Our most popular pledge is the $5/month, which gives you access to a private live stream where you can ask ANY questions related to Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland (and anything about those areas).
Other Ways to Support
There are other ways to show your support too, such as buying your park tickets for Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disneyland through our affiliate Klook. Use our exclusive offer code KLKTDREX to receive $1.50 USD off your first order.
We have a number of resources on our Travel Resources page to help out with your trip (Hotel bookings, JR Rail Pass, etc). When you make a purchase through these links we receive a small commission to keep the site running. Read our full disclosure for more details.
A huge thank you for your support, we couldn’t do this without you. We’ll continue to bring the best for your trip and to just keep you informed!
What do you think?
