Kua ‘Aina Review at Tokyo Disney Resort

Kua ‘Aina is a burger and sandwich restaurant that originates from Hawaii and has a location inside Ikspiari at Tokyo Disney Resort. It’s a very popular spot for teenagers and families. If you have a picky eater or simply want a burger (no judgement here) then this is an excellent choice.

How do the burgers taste? Let’s find out!

Kua ‘Aina Burgers at Tokyo Disney Resort

Sandwiched (I couldn’t help myself) between the Disney Store and my favourite restaurant, Guzman Y Gomez, is the unmistakable Kua ‘Aina. You won’t miss it due to the long lines and vibrant front.

What is there for food?

Kua ‘Aina has both sandwiches and burgers. But also chicken fingers, if you have someone with you that refuses to eat anything else. The prices are a tad expensive at about ¥1,700 (US$15.00) for a meal that includes a burger, fries, and a drink (no refills). If you’re unsure of what to get, there’s a wonderful plastic food display at the front. Something that Japan is well known for.

If you’re interested in refills then shall I interest you in the new Chubby Airlines?

Whenever I go, I get a burger, so let’s talk about that.

Japan loves to have displays of plastic food in front of restaurants and I’m so grateful because it makes deciding on what to eat so much easier

They look so real, don’t they?

How are the burgers?

Full disclosure, I’ve never had their sandwiches so I’m not able to speak to them. I don’t visit a burger joint for their sandwiches, I want a juicy burger. My go-to is their avocado cheeseburger, but my recent visit I went a bit wilder.

There’s usually a special burger happening, so that’s what I typically gravitate towards. This time around was the Spicy Monterey Jack Burger. It came with spicy salsa and delicious Monterey jack cheese. I’m a huge fan. After having the not-so-great-and-I-don’t-recommend-them burgers at either Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea, the ones here at Kua ‘Aina are miles above.

You’re given a wrapper to put your burger in so you don’t get your hands dirty or have to touch the burger, it’s brilliant

Their shoestring fries with onion rings are always a winner too.

Is Kua ‘Aina worth it?

While a bit on the expensive side for a burger, at least they’re good. This is a popular spot, so I recommend eating at off-peak hours to avoid a line. The portion sizes are more than enough for most people and will leave you feeling full. There’s not much bad I can say about this place, it’s a fun-themed restaurant with good burgers.

Sometimes, that’s all you need.

We’ve eaten there a couple of times, and to be honest I’m not a huge fan. The burgers aren’t bad (and as you say, better than the ones in the park), but there are so many better options in Ikspiari. About the only time we go there is if we are traveling with friends who just have to have a burger – or our friends from a couple of years back who didn’t eat Asian food (which made Shanghai a challenge).

I used to frequent this place at least once a week back when I lived in Tokyo. Love it! You gotta get the onion rings ? The theming on this particular store is also super fun.
