A limited-time special Shinkansen is set to roll out in celebration of Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th anniversary. The “Magical Jubilee Shinkansen” will begin operation on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, bringing the spirit of the park’s milestone“Sparkling Jubilee” celebration to Japan’s high-speed rail network.
The Magical Jubilee Shinkansen is themed around Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th Anniversary event, “Sparkling Jubilee”, which celebrates the park’s milestone with the anniverary’s sea-inspired “Jubilee Blue” concept. Mickey Mouse and friends appear in special anniversary costumes on the exterior of the train, alongside iconic Tokyo DisneySea symbols such as the DisneySea Aquasphere and Mount Prometheus.
For the first time on JR East Shinkansen services, passengers will find specially decorated interiors created for the collaboration. Across the 10-car E5 Series trainset, guests will notice decorative headrest covers featuring Disney characters, special seat curtains in both standard and Green Car seating, in-car stickers designed with anniversary artwork, plus a themed onboard melody inspired by the celebration.
To extend the celebration beyond the train itself, temporary photo spots themed to Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th Anniversary will appear at stations across the network. These installations will feature the Sparkling Jubilee visuals and offer themed backdrops inspired by the park’s milestone celebration.
Where and When It Runs
The Magical Jubilee Shinkansen will operate on the Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen lines between Tokyo and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto. It will run as select services including Hayabusa, Hayate, Yamabiko, and Nasuno, with operations scheduled from June 10, 2026, through to early March 2027.
