To mark the March 6th Japanese release of Wicked: For Good, Universal Studios Japan is hosting a limited-time Wicked Celebration, featuring exclusive merchandise, themed treats, a special exhibition of Paul Tazewell’s stunning costumes, and a park-exclusive character greeting with Glinda and Elphaba, the only place in Japan to see these iconic witches in person.
Meet the Witches of Oz
During the Wicked Celebration, guests have a Japan-exclusive opportunity to meet with and take a commemorative photo with Elphaba and Glinda. Visitors may witness Glinda performing her iconic “Toss Toss” hair gesture and enjoy playful exchanges. This is a must-do for Wicked fans!
The witches will be meeting guests near the exit of Hollywood Dream – The Ride from February 20th to December 27th. Sessions run for roughly 25 minutes, with timings varying daily. Wicked: Special Costume Exhibition
A limited-time exhibition of Wicked: For Good costume replicas will be on display in the window near the exit of Hollywood Dream – The Ride. Guests can see detailed replicas of Paul Tazewell’s original costumes for Elphaba and Glinda, recreated to capture the magic of the film up close.
Original Food and Merchandise
Fans can also enjoy original Wicked-themed food such as the returning Wicked Churritos – Peanut Butter Flavour, now redesigned with the green and pink colours of Wicked: For Good.
. Exclusive park merchandise is also back, including gradient glitter sweatshirts, Emerald City-embroidered jackets, keychains, and bracelet sets inspired by the witches.
Wicked merchandise will be available at Universal Studios Select until stocks last.
Wicked at Universal Studios Japan
This is not the first time Wicked has cast a spell over Universal Studios Japan, with the park offering a special edition of the Broadway musical from 2006 to 2011 in the former Land of Oz mini-land, now home to Universal Wonderland. The scaled-down production launched the career of Jemma Rix, who went on to play the role of Elphaba for over a decade in Australia and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Getting around Japan by the world-renowned bullet train, known as the Shinkansen, is incredibly fast, reliable, and affordable for visitors. You can travel from Tokyo to Osaka in just over 2 hours. Get the JR Rail Pass to save a ton of money on the bullet train for your trip.
Book Your Hotel
Universal Studios Japan has affordable accommodations that are steps away from the park and have easy access to Osaka. I recommend checking prices through Booking.com followed by the hotels directly. Sometimes, you’re able to score some incredible deals. Here’s a short list of hotels at Universal Studios Japan I recommend.
- The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan – You’re directly in front of the Park gates and have instant access to Universal CityWalk Osaka. The rooms are gorgeous, with restaurants and even a Lawson (Japanese convenience store).
