Tokyo Disney Resort is once again leaning into its knack for blending classic Disney charm with distinctly local design, with a new merchandise collection that reimagines Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse through a traditional Japanese lens.
The collection draws heavily from ukiyo-e woodblock prints and sumi-e ink painting, with a gentle and soft feel. Mickey and Minnie are depicted in light summer kimono, complete with traditional parasols. Both park icons, Cinderella Castle and Mount Prometheus are both incorporated into the scenery with stylised waves that mirrors classic Japanese landscape art.
The collection features T-shirts and tote bags that are perfect for wearing at the parks this summer. Other items include an eye-catching mug, alongside collectibles including stickers, postcards and a pin badge set of Mickey and Minnie dressed in their Japanese summer attire.
The collection will be available from June 4th at Tokyo Disneyland’s Grand Emporium, and Sleepy Whale Shop, found within Mermaid Lagoon at Tokyo DisneySea.
