Since the reopening of Tokyo Disney Resort in July 2020, annual passports and multi-day tickets have been a thing of the past, and there’s no word when they’ll return. Currently, the only way to visit the Parks is by purchasing a one-day ticket.
Tokyo Disney Resort has announced that they’re introducing a Multi-Visit Passport that allows you to visit the Parks two times a month for three months.
I did my best to translate the relevant information. There’s currently no English translation of this information, so I went with “Multi-Visit Passports.” Keep in mind this may change when or if official English information becomes available.
Let’s take a look at the details.
Multi-Visit Passport at Tokyo Disney Resort
This Multi-Visit Passport lets you visit Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea twice per month from May 2022 through July 2022, beginning at 10:30 AM. This passport costs ¥44,400 (USD $385), which works out to ¥7,400 per visit (USD $64).
Once you buy your passport, between the 1st and 7th of each month, you’ll choose four days you want to visit for the next month. Once you’ve made your selections, you’re told which two days you’re able to visit the Park by the 15th, the month before.
There are only certain days you can choose from, which only seem to include weekdays. Check the Official Tokyo Disney Resort website for these dates.
For example, for May 2022, you’ll make your selections between April 1st and the 7th. The Resort will notify you by April 15th about your choices.
Once you’re assigned two days, you can’t change or cancel your reservation.
The physical card is mailed to you. Then on the day of your visit, you scan the card into the Tokyo Disney Resort app, so you’re able to make StandbyPass and Entry request selections along with the online shopping.
How to buy the Multi-Visit Passport
Between March 9th at 5:00 AM to March 15th at 23:59, you’re able to buy the Multi-Visit Passport through the Tokyo Disney Resort online reservation website.
If there’s a large number of people wanting to buy the pass, then you’re entered into a lottery and told by March 18 whether or not you’re able to buy the Multi-Visit Passport.
The only payment method accepted is by credit card, which means you’ll need a Japanese credit card. I use the LINE Prepaid Visa card to buy my tickets through the Japanese version of the website.
Your passport card will be mailed out to you by the end of April 2022.
Documents Required
You’ll have to upload a clear photo of your face that’ll go on your card. You’ll also need to provide a picture of one of the following documents to prove your identity:
- Japanese Driver’s License
- Health Insurance Card
- Resident Card
- Passport
- Pension Book
- MyNumber Card
You’re not allowed to use a Student ID or the MyNumber notification card.
It’s not clear if this is only through the Japanese version of the website. But since all this information is only in Japanese, my guess is it’ll only be available in Japanese. You’ll need a Disney Japan account to log in (your English account won’t work).
My thoughts on the Multi-Visit Passport
After reading through the Japanese website multiple times to write this article, I’ve concluded that this pass isn’t worth it. I’d prefer to have my annual passport back rather than deciding what days I want to visit a month ahead (with blackout dates) and not able to change the date if something comes up and I’m unable to go.
As it stands right now, I can buy a ticket and change it easily through the Tokyo Disney Resort app and website. In the last few months, it’s been increasingly easier to purchase tickets without them selling out instantly. If you check the Tokyo Disney Resort Ticket website, almost all dates are still available for March, April, and May.
While your “per visit” is ¥7,400 with the Multi-Visit Passport, you’re only able to enter the Park after 10:30 AM. There’s a good chance the Standby Pass selections for popular attractions like Beauty and the Beast and Soaring: Fantastic Flight may already be gone.
Based on the ticket calendar, the most expensive day ticket where the Multi-Visit Passport is valid is ¥8,400. While you are saving ¥1,000, is that worth the hassle?
To me, no, it’s not worth the hassle. I’ll stick with buying day tickets every so often while I wait for my beloved Annual Passport to make a comeback. Or head on over to Universal Studios Japan because they still have annual passes.

I am so disappointed with Tokyo Disney resort at the moment. The fact that Annual Passes have not returned yet whereas Universal Studios have is ridiculous. Do you think this is Disneys decision or Tokyo’s? I live in Tokyo but I’ve been spending way more of my time in Osaka visiting USJ because I have an annual pass. As a Disney park fan it is heart breaking! This new pass is not worth it all.
My guess is this is OLC’s decision since Disney doesn’t have much say in that regard, to my knowledge anyway, I could be wrong. I’m with you on visiting USJ more. I’ve been to that park more times than Disney this year.
