Oriental Land Co., Ltd. has announced that a brand new stage show called “Song of Mirage” is coming to Tokyo DisneySea at the Hangar Stage in Summer 2019 (no specific date). This means the current show “Out of Shadowland” — which made its debut in 2016 — ends on March 31, 2019.
The new stage show features Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, and Goofy in an original story filled with singing, dancing, and projection mapping. The story starts off in the Hangar Stage where Mickey and Friends set out to find the Rio Dorado (golden river) and its city of gold. Donald finds a mysterious staff that leads them on their adventure.

It comes as no surprise that a replacement for “Out of Shadowland” has finally come. I had a feeling the show would be replaced at some point with a character show (it’s the direction Tokyo DisneySea is moving towards).
While “Out of Shadowland” (video above) is enjoyable, it wasn’t as captivating as the previous show “Mystic Rhythms” (video below). I would have preferred another original show without characters (I think we have more than enough character-based shows in the park).
With that said, I’m willing to give this show a chance and wait until it debuts. The story sounds interesting and if it’s popular enough it’ll help distribute the crowds a bit more in the park.
