Okinawa’s New Nature-Inspired Theme Park “JUNGLIA” to Open in July

Theme park enthusiasts visiting Japan will soon have a new destination to explore with the opening of JUNGLIA on July 25th, a nature-inspired theme park in Okinawa. Located in the UNESCO World Nature Heritage-designated region of Yambaru, the 2.4-acre theme park will offer exciting attractions, including a jungle zipline adventure, a dinosaur safari, exclusive shopping, and a spa with infinity baths.

Built on the grounds of a former golf course, JUNGLIA is roughly the same size as Universal Studios Japan. The park’s design embraces the lush beauty of the Yambaru subtropical forest, with the new park significantly increasing tree coverage in the area.

JUNGLIA will offer 22 attractions, 15 dining options, 10 shops, and a high-end spa experience. Dinosaur Safari is an adrenaline-pumping ride where guests race to escape a T-REX in a Landrover through the dense jungle while Finding Dinosaurs lets younger visitors assist in rescuing a lost baby dinosaur.

For those seeking adventure, Tree-Top Trekking offers a thrilling journey across a suspension bridge high above the jungle, and the more daring Sky-End Trekking provides an even more intense challenge for thrill-seekers, offering amazing views of the rest of Junglia and the lush Yambaru forests.

If the skywalk experience isn’t high enough, Horizon Balloon will provide a breathtaking 360° panoramic view. With a glass of sparkling wine in hand, Junglia guarantees a luxurious experience like no other. Junglia will also offer a range of experiences including bungee jumping, and a jungle zipline adventure.

Junglia will offer a variety of food from convenient food carts, which are ideal for dining while exploring the park. For a more elevated experience, Panorama Dining will serve gourmet dishes with panoramic views of the lush jungles, featuring floating nest seats. Wild Banquet will serve vibrant drinks and meals amidst tropical plants just outside the park. Meanwhile, Spa Junglia’s Tropical Oasis will offer a serene setting where guests can relax and enjoy a meal at the on-site restaurant.

Accessing Junglia

Junglia is located about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Naha Airport. There is a paid parking lot on the park grounds. Junglia has provided this handy infographic to help you plan your visit.

Ticket Information

As of now, Junglia will initially open exclusively to domestic residents, and tickets for international guests are not yet available. Details for foreign visitors will be announced at a later date.
