Explorers, assemble! And bring your running shoes too. Registration is open for Hong Kong Disneyland’s Marvel 10k Weekend 2017.

Taking place on 16th-17th September, Hong Kong Disneyland’s latest Marvel event gives fans the chance to join their favourite heroes on a race around the park. Heroes large and small can put their powers of endurance to the test in the Captain America 10K, Thor 5K, Spider-Man 3K, and special Kids Races. Registration is now open on the Hong Kong Disneyland website.

The event follows last year’s inaugural 10k Weekend, which saw 9,000 athletes and family members head to the park for the Disney-themed event.

The weekend’s races are competitive, with the top three finishers in the 10k receiving prizes from Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Co. However, the focus of the weekend is definitely on the Disney experience, with racers cheered on by the likes of Captain America and Black Widow. Guests are encouraged to join the fun by dressing in their most super Marvel-inspired outfit.

There are four types of races across the weekend:

• September 16: the Thor 5K
• September 17: the Captain America
• September 16,17: the Spider-Man 3K and the Kids Races

Entry costs HK$250 -HK$500 ($32-$64) depending on the race. Each runner will receive a running bib and clips, special edition T-shirt, event medal, lanyard, and event e-certificate.

Hong Kong Disneyland has also produced a line of special merchandise which can only be purchased by racers. Limited edition offerings include t-shirts, caps, water bottles, towels, and Disney trading pins.

The event draws to a close Hong Kong Disneyland’s marvellous Super Hero Summer, which includes a new immersive experience, special tours of the Iron Man experience, and exclusive merchandise.
