A fully immersive “dream hotel” themed around Sanrio characters is coming to Tokyo next year with the debut of Sanrio Characters Exhibition Hotel Floria Tokyo. This interactive exhibition, which previously gained attention in Korea, will be held in Japan for the first time at Tokyu Kabukicho Tower in Shinjuku.
The exhibition runs from July 15, 2026 to May 31, 2027, transforming the 4th floor of the entertainment complex into a multi-room hotel experience where guests can step directly into the world of Sanrio.
A “Hotel Room Tour” Through the World of Sanrio
Hotel Floria Tokyo is designed as a narrative-style walkthrough experience, where visitors are treated like hotel guests checking into a themed dream hotel. Upon arrival, guests receive a room key before beginning a “room tour” through a series of immersive spaces.
The experience begins in a striking pink lobby where Sanrio characters welcome visitors, before moving through a sequence of 11 themed areas including a glowing garden, a luminous ballroom, and a series of character-inspired guest rooms.
Character-Themed Rooms and Immersive Spaces
The highlight of the exhibition is a series of character-themed hotel rooms, each designed around a different Sanrio character. The My Melody Room features a soft pink, fairytale-inspired design, while the Hello Kitty Room takes on a romantic style with rose and piano details. The Kuromi Room offers a bold neon, retro-fantasy aesthetic with butterflies and floral touches.
Other Sanrio characters featured include Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Little Twin Stars, Pochacco, Hangyodon, and Keroppi. The pink beach installation made with real sand, popular in the Korea edition, will also be included in the Japan version.
To commemorate the event, exclusive merchandise will be released, including items designed to reflect the hotel concept. Products include acrylic charms styled as hotel room keys, sticker sets, and travel-themed accessories. These items will only be available at the venue, making them a limited souvenir for visitors checking into Hotel Floria Tokyo.
