Since opening in 2016, Shanghai Disney Resort has welcomed millions of guests and seen many exciting expansions, such as the opening of Toy Story Land in 2018, a land inspired by Zootopia in 2023 and the upcoming Spider-Man land, which recently broke ground. Shanghai Disneyland is set to celebrate its ninth anniversary with new offerings debuting across Tomorrowland and Adventure Isle.
Shanghai Disneyland will host a special anniversary ceremony in front of the Storytellers Statue on June 16th to commemorate the occasion. The event will feature the debut of Tinker Bell at Shanghai Disneyland. The spritely pixie will make surprise appearances in Fantasyland during the celebration.
A highlight of the anniversary celebration will be the opening of Pixar Adventurous Journey, an immersive and interactive Pixar-themed exhibition. Located in Tomorrowland, the walk-through experience invites guests to explore areas inspired by iconic Pixar films, including Inside Out, Soul, Finding Nemo, Turning Red, Coco, Up and Monsters Inc.
During the Pixar celebration, guests can meet fan-favourite Pixar characters, including Joy and Sadness from Inside Out, Sulley from Monsters Inc., Red Panda Mei, alongside Carl Fredricksen, Bing Bong, and Edna Mode, who are making their Shanghai Disneyland debut. Guests can also refuel at the newly refreshed Stargazer Grill–Pixar Celebration, featuring themed dishes inspired by the films.
To celebrate Stitch Day on June 26th (Experiment 626 – clever, right?!), Tomorrowland will be the host of Stitch Space Base. Highlights include Space Chat with Stitch, themed retail and snack locations like Intergalactic Imports and Star Trail Snacks, and character meet-and-greets with Stitch, Lilo, and Angel. Galaxy Play Lab, an interactive game zone located in Tomorrowland will also debut later in the year.
Additionally, Junior Explorers Camp, a reimagined outdoor play area replacing the former Excavation Site in Adventure Isle, is set to launch on June 16th. Designed for young adventurers, the play area features zones inspired by The Lion King, Up and Finding Nemo.
