Shanghai Disneyland Announces First-Ever Halloween Event


Brave explorers get ready, Shanghai Disneyland has announced its first-ever Halloween event!

Running September, 25 to October 31, 2017, the spooky spectacular will include new entertainment, park-wide decorations, special merchandise and food, and for the first-time guests will be able to their own wear costumes to Shanghai Disneyland.

Frightful Entertainment

Halloween is set to well and truly take over Shanghai Disneyland, with Disney Character Jack-O-Lanterns and Mickey-shaped spider webs(!), as well as other spooky decorations soon springing up across the park.

At night fall the all new “Villains’ Cavalcade”, featuring Hades, Maleficent, and Dr. Facilier, will descend on the park. The wicked procession along the parade route will include the sinister sound of “Friends on the Otherside” from The Princess and the Frog.

Ghost Pirates roam in Treasure Cove Shanghai Disneyland

Over in Treasure Cove, look out for Ghost Pirates recruiting guests to undertake a dangerous adventure. The interactive experience is inspired by Captain Salazar and his ghoulish crew from “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

Meanwhile, Tomorrowland will host a high-energy dance party inspired by fan favourites the Guardians of the Galaxy. Those on Mickey Avenue will also be in for a treat as Mickey Mouse and friends put on their best Halloween costumes and take photos with guests.

Finally, the resort’s shopping and entertain area, Disneytown, will be joining the fun with new decorations and entertainment. Starting September 29, every Friday to Sunday, as well as October 30-31, there are special Dance Parties along with surprise appearances by Mickey and Minnie. Then, starting on weekends from October,13, children up to 16 can go trick-or-treating at participating stores in Disneytown.

It wouldn’t be Halloween without some delicious treats, and Shanghai has you covered. Special food and drinks include Mickey Mouse-shaped Jack-O-Lantern cups, sundaes with edible cookie cups, Glow-stick Cotton Candy, and Baby Groot Breadmasks!

A new “Black Magic Cheeseburger” with a completely black bun and bat motif will be available in Tomorrowland. While the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel’s Lumiere’s Kitchen will also offer guests a special Halloween themed buffet.

To mark the first-ever Halloween celebration, the park is introducing a huge line of merchandise. Highlights include; Mickey-shaped Trick or Treat pumpkin buckets, Halloween plushes, magnets, mugs, and pumpkin-themed key chains.

Guests keen to dress-up can buy Halloween Mickey Mouse-ear headbands, witch and wizard costumes, and special family fleeces.

Shanghai Disney Resort Celebrates Its First Resort-Wide Halloween Season

Shanghai Disneyland is releasing its first-ever evening ticket, allowing entry after 4 pm between September 25 and October 31, except October 2 to 7.

The new single-entry ticket costs ¥275 CNY ($42USD) and can be purchased at park’s ticket booths, through the resort’s WeChat account, or by calling the Reservation Center. For more information visit Shanghai Disneyland website. Guests who plan to visit Shanghai Disneyland multiple times this year may want to consider the new Fall and Winter Seasonal Pass instead.
