Catch The Wave at Shanghai Disneyland This Summer

Shanghai Disney Resort is set to welcome summer with various exciting experiences from June 21st through August 31st. Guests are invited to ‘Catch the Wave’ and enjoy new character appearances, exclusive merchandise, live entertainment, and cool down with delicious summer treats and beverages.

Character Greetings

Disney characters new and old will make special appearances throughout the summer. Partysaurus Rex will debut in the Backyard Splash Around area located in Toy Story Land for a limited time. Stitch’s female companion Angel, will also join Stitch for special appearances in Tomorrowland from June 26.

Mickey Mouse and Friends will also feature brand-new, eye-catching summer outfits inspired by fresh juices, chilled ice creams, and delicious fruit sundaes. Additionally, the ever-popular Duffy and Friends characters will don new outfits inspired by fruits and vegetables harvested from the garden.

Decorations

Vibrant summer-themed décor will enhance the summer atmosphere at Shanghai Disney Resort, with various ‘Cool Summer’ social walls in Shanghai Disneyland and Disneytown, providing perfect backdrops for summer photos.

Limited-Time Entertainment

Shanghai Disneyland will offer a range of water-soaked live shows and entertainment to keep guests entertained and cool during the hot summer season. This year will see the return of fan favourites including the “Summer Blast” Castle Show, “Ralph Breaks the Dance Floor” on the Tomorrowland Pepsi E-Stage and a summer edition of Swabbie Fight.

The JAMMitors will perform a special summer edition of their show, and the Disney Duffy’s Splashing Pre-Parade will begin on July 15 offering cool-down water elements. Additionally, every Friday to Sunday, Disneytown will offer a variety of entertainment offering. At Wishing Star Lake, guests can also try their hand at a series of carnival-style games at the Summer Sports Camp and visit the Disneytown Wishing Star Park on Saturday and Sunday evenings to meet mystery characters.

Exclusive Merchandise

This summer will see the introduction of three new eye-catching merchandise collections, including the 2024 Summer Mickey and Friends Collection which features items inspired by summer treats like milkshakes and strawberries and features plush toys, a Chip Cross-body Bag and an anti-UV jacket.

The 2024 Summer Duffy and Friends Collection features a garden theme with items like flower-shaped pineapples and ukulele-shaped watermelons. Additionally, the Summer Winnie the Pooh and Friends Collection offers nature-inspired headbands, and youth clothes, with designs with green leaves, petals, and lotus leaves.

Food and Beverage

Shanghai Disneyland is known for its large array of exclusive food and drink offerings, often offering a unique twist on old favourites. This summer will feature refreshing summer treats and beverages including a fresh fruit tart at CookieAnn Bakery Café, Watermelon Flavored Ice Cream Sundae at Pinocchio Village Kitchen and a Guava Flavored Lemon Tea at Spiral Snacks.

For those after something a bit more savoury, succulent BBQ beef dishes will be offered throughout the result, while Donald’s Dine ‘n Delights will offer a roasted chicken leg with pan-fried peach. Royal Banquet Hall will also host a summer brunch, complete with appearances by Disney princesses.

Additionally, Zootopia-themed treats can be found at Jumbeaux’s Cafe and Picnic Basket, with items including a refreshing blueberry-flavoured ice cream cone and a carrot-shaped tuna sandwich.
