Construction continues on the all-new Space Mountain Earthrise at Tokyo Disneyland, and we recently caught a glimpse of the progress from the Disney Resort Line.
The new attraction is taking shape in Tomorrowland, with much of the enormous show building now enclosed in its distinctive white exterior. From this angle, the sweeping curves of the building are clearly visible, along with the tall spires that form part of its new design.

While parts of the structure are still surrounded by scaffolding, the overall shape of Space Mountain Earthrise is now much easier to see. The clean white exterior contrasts significantly with the original Space Mountain, which closed permanently in 2024.

The new building features curved elements inspired by celestial bodies and forms found in nature, including trees and flowers. This design will carry through to the finished attraction and the surrounding Tomorrowland Plaza.

The construction site has come a long way since the demolition of the original attraction. Earlier this year, much of the exterior scaffolding was removed, revealing the new facade, while additional work has continued around the building and the future Tomorrowland Plaza.

Space Mountain Earthrise will be a completely new indoor roller coaster, featuring a new ride system, story and special effects. Guests will travel from Earth into outer space, with onboard audio being introduced for the first time on a roller coaster at Tokyo Disney Resort.

The attraction is scheduled to open in 2027, although Tokyo Disney Resort has yet to announce an exact opening date. It will form the centrepiece of the larger Tomorrowland redevelopment, which also includes the new Tomorrowland Plaza and Element Express.

While there is still plenty of work ahead, the new attraction is becoming increasingly recognisable as its futuristic exterior takes shape.
