Star Wars Snow Sculptures at Sapporo Snow Festival
The Sapporo Snow Festival in Hokkaido, Japan, happens every winter. Where larger than life snow sculptures are created with painstaking detail. The amount of snow used to create all the sculptures, big and small, is staggering. So much so, that the (army) brings in all the snow to help. There are plenty of small sculptures built by the locals along with massive sculptures sponsored by companies and businesses.
This year a gigantic Star Wars sculpture was one of the highlights of the festival. With the upcoming series of movies, this is a great PR stunt. Disney released a short time lapsed video of the sculpture being build.

In the evening, a short light show occurred with the music from Star Wars. We were fortunate to visit the Snow Festival and got photos to share with all of our lovely readers! Photos are courtesy of John Himpe. Feel free to repost these, but please give credit to TDRExplorer and John Himpe.
