Construction of Hong Kong Disneyland’s upcoming Arendelle: The World of Frozen expansion is speeding along, getting ready to open in the second half of 2023. The land will be the world’s first frozen-themed land and is the Park’s largest expansion to date.

We recently visited Hong Kong Disneyland to scope out the construction progress as the land readies to open. As soon as you walk up Main Street, you’re immediately greeted by the frozen mountains of Arendelle peaking out from behind the Castle of Magical Dreams.

The vista sure has changed dramatically in recent years following the expansion of the park’s existing castle into the majestic Castle of Magical Dreams and the addition of Arendelle: The World of Frozen.

Unfortunately, visibility into the land itself is quite limited – which is a good thing, as it highlights just how immersive the eventual Frozen area will feel once it opens later this year.

The Disney Parks Blog has shared an updated look at the construction of Disney’s first Frozen-themed coaster ride, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs which guests will soon be able to embark on a scenic ride.

The ride will be powered by his buddies Olaf and Sven as they work together to pull the sleighs to the top of the lift hill. Pictured are figures of the characters featured within the ride’s queue.

Disney has released a short video of Imagineers riding the coaster and admiring their work. In the video, we get a sneak peek at the interior queue and the loading area inspired by Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna from Frozen 1.

Arendelle: The World of Frozen is scheduled to open in the second half of the year at Hong Kong Disneyland, and we’ll be there to report back to you on the exciting new land.
