Things We’re Excited for at IAAPA Expo Asia 2023

There are only a few days to go until IAAPA Expo Asia 2023.

After four years, IAAPA Expo Asia is back and coming to Singapore! Theme park and entertainment industry professionals will descend on the Marina Bay Sands® convention centre from June 13 to 16 to attend the region’s largest and most comprehensive attractions industry event.

Remember, the TDR Explorer Team, and I will attend IAAPA Expo Asia 2023 in person, bringing you daily coverage on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and our website with photos and videos from the show floor.

With plenty of sessions and things to do, here are a few standouts that I’m excited to experience!

Session: An Insider’s Guide to Food & Beverage Operations at Theme Parks and Resorts

When: Wednesday, June 14 (10:15 – 11:15 a.m.)

This session features Christopher Chan from Creative Culture City, Richie Li from Legoland Shanghai Resort, and Alan Kwok from Shanghai Disney Resort. This session covers what it’s like to operate Food & Beverage offerings at major theme parks and how to make unique menu choices that help a food location stand out.

As you know, I love to eat at theme parks, so I’m looking forward to this one!

Session: Tips on Making a Creative Entertainment Show from Brass Ring Award Winners

When: Wednesday, June 14 (2 – 3 p.m.)

Industry experts Daniel Perez from Universal Studios Japan, Eva Au Yeung from Ocean Park Hong Kong, and Melissa Weigel from Moment Factory go into detail on how they create the entertainment offerings seen at theme parks and how they take their ideas from the drawing board through to see them fully realized.

I’m a massive entertainment fan of theme parks, so hearing what the experts have to share will be fascinating.

Session: Excellence in Retail and Merchandising

When: Thursday, June 15 (2:45 – 3:45 p.m.)

Daniel Cuffe from Universal Beijing Resort and David Koo from Tokyo Disney Resort will share
they bring to life all the fantastic merchandise we see in their parks and how they take our favourite characters and make them shine.

If you’ve been following us for a while, you know how much I love merchandise from theme parks, so this was a no-brainer session for me to attend.

Opening Reception at Universal Studios Singapore

My last visit to Universal Studios Singapore was in 2019, and I’m looking forward to experiencing the park again. With exclusive access to attractions, I may be able to ride both Battlestar Galactica coasters this time!

We’re Excited to Attend!

The TDR Explorer team and I are thrilled at the opportunity to bring Explorers all the excitement that the IAAPA Asia Expo has to offer through our content.

Check back daily blog posts about the event, Shorts on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram for content from the show floor.
