There’s a lot of construction happening at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Here’s a quick photo update of what’s happening for construction in May 2018.
Tokyo Disneyland Ticket Gate Construction
The entrance to Tokyo Disneyland is now under major renovations to make way for new turnstiles to help guests get into the park faster. The left side of the entrance is open for guests to enter (Happy 15 early entry guests are on the right side, ask a Cast Members for details).
During the renovations, on days of high attendance (weekends and holidays), guests are allowed into the park 30-minutes before park open (only into the World Bazaar & the hub area) where Mickey and Minnie do a special greeting. Hotel guests are still able to enter the rest of the park with their “Happy 15” early entry. Construction is expected to finish sometime in 2019 into 2020. Check this post for full details.
Fantasyland construction is still on-going and not much else to report. We have photos here from earlier this year.
Over at Tokyo DisneySea, we have a few things covered up at the moment. The former Sailing Day Buffet (closed March 31, 2018) is covered up and you are able to hear construction happening. It’s not known what is happening with this space yet.
The front of the S.S. Columbia has its Dockside Stage covered to get ready for the new show “Hello, New York!”, which debuts on July 10, 2018.
Soarin’ (planned for fiscal 2019) is still moving along nicely and nothing major to report since our last update.
