Tokyo Disney Resort Construction Update (Spring 2018)

Construction continues at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea through spring 2018. If you’re visiting either park it’s hard to miss the huge cranes as these new additions slowly become reality.

Let’s take a look at what’s happening at both Parks. Feel free to use these photos as long as you give credit to TDR Explorer.

If you’re visiting this spring check out what to expect for April.

Tokyo DisneySea

Soarin’ is now a massive covered building that is quite prominent with the Tokyo DisneySea skyline. This attraction is set to open for Fiscal 2019 (no official date yet).

Tokyo Disneyland

The Fantasyland expansion is hard to miss. It’s right in the middle of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland with multiple cranes. The buildings are beginning to take shape. It’s tough to see much from within the park, you’re best riding the monorail to see the construction. The new Beauty and the Beast area at Tokyo Disneyland is expected to finish sometime in 2020 (no official date).

The walls are now down around “it’s a small world” as it gets ready for its re-opening on April 15, 2018 (expect a soft launch a few days before the official date).

Ticket Gate & Parking Structure Construction

The construction of the new ticket gate upgrades and parking structure at Tokyo Disneyland is set to begin this month. The new ticket gates introduce new automated ticket machines and allow guests to use their smartphones with their e-tickets to enter the park. The new three-story parking structure is going beside Tokyo Disneyland. While there are no official dates, this construction is set to finish sometime for fiscal 2019/2020.
