Tokyo Disney Resort has announced that QR code tickets will be gradually introduced on the Disney Resort Line starting Monday, July 28, 2025. The monorail, which connects key destinations within Tokyo Disney Resort, will fully transition from magnetic stripe tickets to QR code-based tickets by July 2026.
Guests can simply scan the two-dimensional QR code printed on their ticket at the automated ticket gate reader. Visitors can continue using nationwide-compatible transportation IC cards without any changes. While the change is not huge, it’s good to know what to expect, especially during busy periods!
The move is designed to streamline the ticketing process and improve gate entry efficiency. Upgraded automatic ticket gates and vending machines capable of processing QR codes will be installed at Resort Gateway Station, Tokyo Disneyland Station, Bayside Station and Tokyo DisneySea Station.
