Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea is back for 2022. Even though this year’s Halloween event is less impressive than previous years, it still has more offerings than last year.
Halloween at Tokyo Disney Resort is one of my favourite times. The resort offers spooky-themed decor, entertainment, attraction overlays, merchandise and a tonne of limited-time Halloween food and drink options.
Our Tokyo Disneyland Halloween guide highlights everything about Halloween in the parks, including what to expect for weather, crowds, tips, and recommendations to make the most of your trip. And most importantly, what to eat and what merchandise is available.
Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland & Tokyo DisneySea runs Thursday, September 15 through Monday, October 31, 2022.

Things to Know About Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland
There are key points to remember in regards to Halloween at Tokyo Disney Resort compared to other Disney Parks:
- Unlike Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there is no hard-ticketed party at Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea
- Halloween decorations, food, merchandise, and entertainment are available every day during the event
- All the entertainment and decorations are included in your park ticket
- You’re allowed to wear Disney-themed Halloween costumes at both parks during the event (see costume section for details)
- Decorations start going up as soon as the Summer event ends and are gone once the event ends
- Food and merchandise are available a week before the event begins and until the event ends
- Once the event ends, all the food and merchandise are no longer available (try Nakano Broadway for used goods)
Best Times to Visit
The best time to visit is in October, when the weather is much cooler at 18°C (64°F) on average, making it much more bearable to wear an elaborate costume. September it’s still relatively warm, with an average of 23°C (73°F) and falls during the typhoon season.
- Avoid September 18 and 23 (Respect for the Aged Day and Autumn Equinox)
- Try to avoid October 9 (Sports Day)
- Weekdays (Tuesday to Friday) are usually not too busy
- Check the Tokyo Disneyland Crowd Calendar to check your dates and adjust accordingly
- The best dates for lower crowds are:
- September: 3-8, 12-15, 19-22, 26-29
- October: 3-6, 11-12, 17-19, 24-26, 31
Halloween ends on October 31, and Christmas begins in November. If you time it right, you could experience Halloween and Christmas in one trip. For more each month, read my detailed posts for September and October, which break everything down from crowds to weather.
September (and part of October) fall within the Typhoon season. Please read our guide to Typhoons & Rain at Tokyo Disney Resort.
Tokyo Disneyland Halloween
Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland sees the return of some old favourites and new additions! After some significant reductions in offerings in recent years, we’re excited to see parades, decorations, and a beloved Halloween attraction return!
Decorations

During Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland, the entrance to the park is decorated with Halloween decorations, including the classic Disney jack-o-lanterns. Toontown will be decorated for the spooky season and offer several limited-time photo spots.
Entertainment

This year sees the return of the “Spooky Boo!” parade. This daytime parade happens a couple of times a day and has floats themed to different lands of Tokyo Disneyland. Guests can view Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in ghost costumes. The parade contains six floats, does not feature any show stops and will perform once daily along the Tokyo Disneyland parade route.
In addition to the Spooky Boo! parade, Tokyo Disneyland will also offer a villain-themed parade, “The Villains Rockin Halloween,” inviting guests to experience Halloween the villain way. Villains include Maleficent, Wicked Queen, Captain Hook, Cruella de Vil, plus more!

Wearing Costumes

During the Halloween event, you’re allowed to wear Disney Halloween costumes at both parks on any day during the event. This is one of the best parts of Halloween. Many guests wear their best Disney costumes and wander the parks to take that perfect photo.
Ask first if you’d like to take photos of the guests in costumes. You can say “shasheen” or “picture” and point to your camera.
