The Disney Resort Line at Tokyo Disney Resort is set to receive a new train, as part of the multi-year renewal of the service, set to be complete by 2024. The new blue monorail train is the third new ‘Type C’ Resort Liner to join the fleet.
The new Resort Liner train will go into operation on January 18, 2022. The new train features a two-colour gradient blue wrap which is reminiscent of waves. The new train will join the yellow and pink Type C trains that were introduced in 2020 and 2021, replacing the former ‘Type X’ trains that had serviced the line since opening in 2001.
A limited time “free ticket” featuring the blue motif of the new train will be released on February 11, 2022, allowing guests to use the ticket as many times as you want in a specific time frame.
The Disney Resort Line provides transportation between JR Maihama Station, the closest station to Tokyo Disney Resort, and major destinations within the Resort, with stops including Tokyo Disneyland Station, Tokyo DisneySea, Bayside Station, and Resort Gateway Station.
In contrast to the monorail trains found at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, the Disney Resort Line at Tokyo Disney Resort requires an additional ticket, and features highlyhighly themed and detailed interiors, featuring Mickey Mouse inspired decor through out, including Mickey handle straps and large Mickey-shaped windows.
