Tokyo Disneyland’s biggest ever expansion opens on April 15, 2020, and includes brand new attractions, an indoor theatre, shops, a new restaurant and food outlets.
In the Beauty and the Beast area of Fantasyland, there will be a Gaston-inspired restaurant and a smaller snack location called LeFou’s. While in Tomorrowland, there will be a new shop dedicated to the king of Tokyo Disney snacks, popcorn!
Check out all the details below, including a preview of the menu!
Alongside the new food, Tokyo Disney Resort has confirmed that Mickey’s Magical Music World, a brand new musical show, will debut in the Fantasyland Forest Theatre on April 15, 2020 too. Click here for more info, the concept art and a full plot summary.
La Taverne de Gaston
Inspired by Gaston and Le Fou’s hangout in Beauty and the Beast, La Taverne de Gaston will be a lively counter-service restaurant which can seat 200 guests.
The restaurant will have an old-fashioned pub style, decorated with a huge portrait of Gaston alongside trophies of his many achievements. The beams, giant chair, and lighting look absolutely perfect!
La Taverne de Gaston will serve a rustic menu of meals and snacks, including sausage in a croissant, hunter’s pie, and a sweet-and-savoury French toast sandwich with cheese. But the highlight has to be a new beer-inspired soda based on Gaston’s favourite brew.
La Taverne de Gaston has a sidekick! LeFou’s will be a small snack shop in the Fantasyland village serving new apple-caramel churros.
Fantasyland will also have a new popcorn wagon called Le Petit Popper. There’s no word yet on which flavour popcorn will be on sale.
The Big Pop
Located by the new Happy Ride with Baymax attraction in Tomorrowland, the Big Pop shop will specialise in popcorn! A first for Tokyo Disney Resort.
The Big Pop will sell a variety of popcorn buckets which guests can fill with their choice of three popcorn flavours. At the opening, there will be the brand new Cookies & Cream, as well as Caramel & Cheese, and Strawberry Milk flavours.
The shop’s space theme makes it a perfect addition to Tomorrowland. The futuristic building has a white exterior, with huge windows, so guests can watch the popcorn being made. Inside there will be a massive popcorn chandelier inspired by the big bang! (See what they did there?)
