A new limited-time Disney-themed Shinkansen is set to debut this summer, bringing the magic of Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th anniversary celebration to the Tokaido Shinkansen line. The “Sparkling Dreams Shinkansen” will begin operation on Friday, June 19, 2026, themed to the park’s ongoing anniversary event, “Tokyo DisneySea 25th Anniversary ‘Sparkling Jubilee’.”

The Sparkling Dreams Shinkansen is inspired by Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th anniversary celebration, which embraces the sea-themed colour concept “Jubilee Blue.” The specially wrapped N700A trainset features vibrant artwork of Mickey Mouse and friends dressed in exclusive anniversary costumes, alongside Duffy and ShellieMay, set against the backdrop of Tokyo DisneySea’s eight themed ports.

Across the 16-car trainset, guests will discover a variety of themed onboard decorations. Returning favourites include original Disney-themed headrest covers and special table stickers, while the in-car melody will play “Come Join the Jubilee,” the official theme song for the festive 25th anniversary event.

Limited-time anniversary photo spots will also appear at select stations along the Tokaido Shinkansen route. These themed installations will feature artwork inspired by “Sparkling Jubilee,” offering guests another way to celebrate the milestone anniversary during their journey.

Where and When it Runs
The Sparkling Dreams Shinkansen will operate on the Tokaido Shinkansen line between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. Services are primarily planned for the Hikari and Kodama lines, with the first scheduled departure operating as Hikari 632 from Nagoya Station to Tokyo Station on June 19, 2026.
The special train is scheduled to operate through approximately March 2027. Guests can check the dedicated operating schedule page provided by JR Central for specific service dates.
